A Change of Scenery Can Do a Body Good!

When you are at your desk, consider having healthy snacks readily available. Keep a large container of water with a fresh lemon slice to refresh you as you work. Another option is to have a smaller container of water and then walk to your kitchen or water station for a refill.  There is nothing wrong with getting a few more steps in during your day.

For those of you who are working, either at home or in the office, a change of scenery can often clear away the cobwebs and charge your creativity.

Consider taking your work to an entirely different location. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Move to a different room in your home.

  • Go to an empty conference room in your building.

  • Go outside to your patio or porch.

  • Sit in your car and practice deep breathing.

  • Drive to the park and read NON-work material.

  • Drive to the park and read work-related material.

  • Take your lunch break in your car or breakroom.

  • Take a brisk walk, if for only 15 minutes.

  • Consider 5-10 minutes to interact with your pet(s)

  • Take your mind to another location and meditate.

Also, during this brief mental respite, try to avoid the temptation to log onto any social media.  It can easily take you down a rabbit hole and you will defeat the purpose of this concept. On more than one occasion, I have clicked onto a Facebook Reel and before I knew it, I had wasted 45 minutes that I can’t be back.
